First, they have a new logo:

In case you forgot, here is the old logo:

First of all, it doesn't seem like they really changed a whole lot. Second, doesn't it seem like Upper Deck has more important issues to work on?
That brings me to the second announcement:
UD Confirms 100+ Football Cards That Won't Be Made
There are a TON of different names on this list. Some players are explainable (Sean Taylor - although he even had three year old redemptions), but others are just odd. Ronnie Brown? Tedy Bruschi? Donovan McNabb? Heath Miller?
I personally think that Upper Deck had a ton of leftover unredeemed redemptions from other players and they figured they could just swap those out for the players who they didn't get to sign. It probably saves them a lot of money.
I am quite sure most collector would rather have Upper Deck solve their redemption problem instead of designing new logos.
